The City Council of Fuengirola opens registration for a 24-hour course to prepare for the CompTIA Security+ and Cisco CyberOps certifications, with limited places and a fee of 20 euros.

The City Council of Fuengirola, through the Youth Department, presented a new cybersecurity course aimed at the young people of the municipality this Sunday. The training, which will be held from September 1 to 24, will prepare participants for the international CompTIA Security+ and Cisco CyberOps Associate certifications, two of the most recognized titles in the field of cybersecurity.

The Youth Councillor, Isaac Vargas, and the person responsible for the initiative, Enrique Meléndez, have shared the details of a project that aims to improve the employability of young people in Fuengirola in a sector with a growing demand for qualified professionals. The course will last 24 hours, divided into three-hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:30 to 13:30.

The registration fee is 20 euros and places are limited. Registration will open this Monday, August 19, at 20:00 through the Citizen Card, until capacity is reached. The only requirement is that interested individuals must be over 16 years old and have basic computer skills.

“From the City Council of Fuengirola, we want to continue to enhance and expand the proposals we offer to our young people so they can improve their academic training and, at the same time, acquire knowledge that will help them in their professional future,” stated Isaac Vargas.

The councillor emphasized that cybersecurity is a field with enormous potential and a growing demand for professionals, making this training “a very interesting opportunity” for the young people of the municipality. He also highlighted that the course prepares for recognized international certifications, which can help strengthen the participants' resumes.

For his part, Enrique Meléndez explained that this is a “short and brief” training, but very concentrated, designed to provide specific preparation for the official exams of both certifications. The program is structured into four main thematic blocks that address the key knowledge and skills in cybersecurity, with a practical focus aimed at passing the tests.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Professional Accreditation in Cybersecurity that they can add to their professional profile. The initiative is backed by the Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ) of the Andalusian Government, which provides institutional support to the training proposal.

Interested individuals can formalize their registration starting tomorrow at 20:00 through the Citizen Card. Due to the limited number of places, it is recommended to complete the process in advance.
