The Málaga Transport Consortium has announced special services for the Málaga Fair 2026, which will take place from August 15 to 22. There will be reinforcements in buses, metro, and Cercanías to facilitate travel.
The Málaga Transport Consortium has presented the special mobility plan for the Málaga Fair 2026, which will be held from August 15 to 22. The plan includes reinforcements in urban and intercity bus lines, as well as in the metro and Cercanías trains, aiming to meet the high demand for travel during the festivities.
According to sources from the Consortium, the special services have been designed to connect the city centre with the Fairgrounds, located in the Cortijo de Torres area, and with the main points in the province. An increase in frequencies is expected during peak hours, especially at night, and the lines serving the municipalities in the metropolitan area will be reinforced.
The Málaga metro will extend its hours and will have additional trains to accommodate fairgoers, while Renfe Cercanías will enhance its services on the lines connecting the capital with the Costa del Sol and other areas. The urban buses of the EMT will also see increased frequencies, and special shuttles will be set up to the fairgrounds.
The Consortium recommends that users plan their travels in advance and use public transport to avoid traffic jams and parking issues. Additionally, it reminds that regular transport tickets, such as the transport card or virtual wallet, are valid on all services, including the special ones.
During the Fair, the hours of night services will be extended until the early hours of the morning. Specifically, the last departures will be delayed to match the closing of the booths, which usually occurs around 6:00 AM. This measure aims to facilitate the return home for attendees, both those residing in the capital and those travelling from other municipalities in the province.
The special plan adds to the usual security and mobility measures activated each year for the Fair. Users will be able to check detailed schedules and reinforced lines on the Consortium's website and official mobile apps, as well as on information panels at stops and stations.
The Málaga Fair is one of the most important events in the Andalusian festive calendar and attracts thousands of visitors from across the province and the rest of Spain. Therefore, the Consortium emphasizes the importance of choosing public transport as a sustainable and efficient alternative to private vehicles, especially at an event with such massive attendance.
