Málaga Fair 2026 will feature nearly 200 free shows, with Medina Azahara, Nancys Rubias, Antonio Carmona, and Paloma San Basilio as headliners. The programme was presented this Wednesday.
Málaga Fair 2026 will include nearly 200 free musical and artistic performances for all audiences, according to the programme presented this Wednesday by the councillor for Operational Services, Beaches, and Festivals, Teresa Porras. Among the confirmed names are Medina Azahara, Nancys Rubias, Antonio Carmona, and Paloma San Basilio.
Most of the artists are from Málaga, supporting local talent that, according to the City Council, contributes to promoting the city during the festival week. The Córdoba band Medina Azahara will perform their last concert at the Municipal Auditorium on Tuesday, August 18, a moment that Porras described as “a true luxury” for the city.
“We want a fair that is enjoyed, but also a fair that values what we are and what makes us different,” Porras stated at a press conference, accompanied by several artists, including members of Medina Azahara.
“We are very happy to be able to stop by Málaga capital on our farewell tour,” said vocalist Manuel Martínez, who promised the audience “will have a wonderful time.”
The performances will take place at the Municipal Auditorium, the Flamenco and Copla Municipal Booth, the Children's Booth, the Verdiales Booth, the Popular Málaga Folklore Stage, the Equestrian Exhibition Centre, the Youth Esplanade, and squares in the Historic Centre. The Municipal Auditorium, located in the Cortijo de Torres, will host concerts from August 15 to 22 with free access until capacity is reached.
On Saturday the 15th, Encarni and Diana Navarro will open; on Sunday the 16th, Ana Romma and David de María; on Tuesday the 18th, Tabletom and Medina Azahara; on Wednesday the 19th, Hoffman and Nancys Rubias; on Thursday the 20th, Tonia Rodríguez and Zenet; on Friday the 21st, Antonio Carmona; and on Saturday the 22nd, Paloma San Basilio will close the event. At the Flamenco and Copla Municipal Booth, there will be daily performances featuring names like José de Chaparro, Chato de Málaga, or Vanesa Fernández.
In the centre, the Peña Juan Breva will offer flamenco from 15:00 hours, with Gema Garcés, Chato de Vélez, or Pepe de Campillos. The verdiales will have their space in the Cortijo de Torres from 22:00 to 03:00 hours and on Calle Larios from 13:00 to 17:00 hours, with groups like San Isidro de Periana or Raíces de Almogía. Popular folklore will fill Larios from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00 hours with academies like Con Málaga por Bandera or Malacca Fussion.
Musical entertainment will extend to the squares of Constitución, Las Flores, Obispo, and San Pedro Alcántara from 13:00 to 18:00 hours. The Equestrian Exhibition Centre will host daily shows at 16:00 and 22:00 hours, such as ‘Málaga dreams on horseback’ or ‘Between jábegas and horses’, as well as the XXIII Equestrian Costume and Tack Contest on Tuesday the 18th. The Youth Esplanade will feature DJ sessions from 22:00 hours.
The Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta will celebrate its bullfighting fair at 19:00 hours with Morante de la Puebla, Diego Urdiales, Fortes, Emilio de Justo, Manuel Escribano, and Roca Rey, with the bullfight marking the 150th anniversary of the venue on Saturday, August 22. Málaga Fair 2026 also commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Magical Fair, a milestone that will be reflected in the programme.
