The Centre and the Real of the Fair host a day full of activities on Tuesday, August 18: from the verdiales festival in Larios to the bullfight in La Malagueta and the gala of Tabletom and Medina Azahara.
The Málaga Fair enters its fourth day with a programme that combines tradition, music, and spectacle across two main stages: the historic Centre and the Real Cortijo de Cortes. Thousands of people are expected to participate in an agenda that kicks off at noon and continues until dawn.
On Larios Street, the verdiales festival takes over with two groups: Aires del Torcal, in the Almogía style, will perform from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and the Panda El Borge, in the Comares style, will perform from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Popular Folklore stage hosts the choirs A Compás, Cantares, Luz de Alba, and La Alegría from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and Málaga por Bandera and Siempre Málaga from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The squares in the Centre are also filled with entertainment. In Plaza de la Constitución, Lázaro Cruz performs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Silverio Soto from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The squares of Las Flores, del Obispo, and San Pedro Alcántara offer varied music from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In Peña Juan Breva, at 3:00 PM, the flamenco group Bambera, featuring José Lucena, will perform.
Plaza de la Merced hosts The Magical Fair from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM, celebrating its thirtieth anniversary with games, workshops, theatre, puppets, parades, magic, and music. Companies participating include Acuario Teatro, La Pili, Vibra Alto, Mago Luigi, La Carpa Teatro, Artrasto, Crystal Zircus, Manolo Supertramp, La Tremenda Compañía, Sésamo Teatro, Tenguerengue, Acuario Musical, Diamante y Rubí, and Alberto Díaz de la Quintana.
At the La Malagueta bullring, at 7:00 PM, the youth bullfight takes place featuring bulls from El Parralejo for El Fandi, Borja Jiménez, and Marco Pérez. It is one of the highlights of the bullfighting day at the fair.
In the Real of the Fair, the Paseo de Enganches and Horses hosts the official itinerary from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Flamenco and Copla Municipal Tent features Isabel Soto singing and Antonio Soto on guitar with the group Soleá at 2:00 PM; at 11:00 PM, Rocío Alcalá sings, José Fernández plays guitar, with Macarena Albarracín's copla and the Hermanas Alarcón group.
The world of horses takes centre stage: at 3:30 PM, the Andalusian Association of Women Riders holds its official reception, with a display at 4:00 PM in the Equestrian Exhibition Centre. At the same time, the XXIII Equestrian Costume and Tack Contest Memorial Juan Alda takes place, and at 10:00 PM, the show 'Málaga, Cradle of the Horse' will be held.
For the little ones, the Children's Municipal Tent hosts the performance of Los Títeres de Miguel Pino with 'Peneque, the Dream of the Puppets' at 9:30 PM. The Verdiales Tent offers a Málaga party starting at 10:00 PM with the Panda Los Moras (Almogía style) until 1:00 AM and the Panda 1ª Puerto de la Torre (Montes style) from midnight to 3:00 AM.
The Municipal Auditorium hosts the Show of Málaga and Flamenco Dances at 9:30 PM, and at 10:00 PM, the grand gala with Tabletom and Medina Azahara. The Youth Esplanade closes the night with DJs Jesús Fernández and Manuel Pallarés from 10:00 PM onwards.
The day presents an opportunity to enjoy the fair in its most traditional and festive aspect, with activities for all audiences spread across the Centre and the Real. Public transport enhances its services until dawn to facilitate access and return for attendees.
