The municipality of Benalmádena will celebrate a floral tribute this Saturday at the cemetery of Benalmádena Pueblo, where the artist rests, with performances and the presence of locals and admirers.
Benalmádena will once again remember one of its most illustrious residents. The Town Hall, together with the Legacy of Imperio Argentina, has organised a floral tribute that will take place this Saturday, August 22, at 12:00 noon at the Cemetery of Benalmádena Pueblo, where the artist's remains rest. The event coincides with the 23rd anniversary of her passing and has become an unmissable annual event for the municipality.
The Councillor for Festivities and Popular Traditions, Yolanda Peña, and the head of the Legacy of Imperio Argentina, Fernando Luis Aisa, have presented the details of a tribute that brings together locals, admirers, and representatives from various groups each year. The ceremony will be officiated by Father Nando and will feature performances by Ana Luigi, Pepe Satorre, and Rafael Santiago. Journalist and former Miss Spain Rocío Martín will host the event.
Peña highlighted that “Benalmádena once again demonstrates the immense affection it feels for Imperio Argentina and this Town Hall's commitment to preserving and promoting her legacy.” “She was a universal artist who took her talent around the world, but found her home in Benalmádena. That’s why every August 22 we have a very special appointment with her memory and everything she represents for our cultural history,” the councillor noted.
The artist chose Benalmádena to reside for over three decades, a bond that the municipality keeps alive with initiatives like this. The councillor thanked “the constant dedication of Fernando Luis Aisa to keep the memory of Imperio Argentina alive and to bring her figure closer to new generations,” and invited “locals, visitors, and admirers of the artist to join us in an event filled with emotion and affection.”
For his part, Fernando Luis Aisa, who was the artist's personal secretary and friend, once again thanked the collaboration of the Benalmádena Town Hall for continuing to promote this annual tribute. The floral tribute is the central act of a day that remembers the trajectory of an indispensable figure in Spanish music and cinema.
With this new tribute, Benalmádena reaffirms its commitment to preserving and disseminating the legacy of Imperio Argentina, one of the municipality's most beloved artists. The event, open to the public, will take place at 12:00 noon at the cemetery of Benalmádena Pueblo.
