The Madrid singer brought the Feria de Málaga to a close in front of a packed Auditorio Cortijo de Torres, with a repertoire that revisited her greatest hits and current versions.
The Madrid-born Paloma San Basilio sold out the Auditorio Cortijo de Torres on the last night of the Feria de Málaga. The audience, who filled the seats and the steps of the stands, followed every song in a concert that mixed romantic ballads with her most popular songs.
The artist started in a white suit and had the audience singing along with “Cariño mío”. Amidst shouts of “You’re amazing Paloma!” and “Artist!”, the crowd continuously recorded every moment of the performance on their phones.
The repertoire was not limited to her classics. Versions such as “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi; “Tacones Rojos” by Sebastián Yatra, and “Hijo de la luna” by Mecano were performed. She was accompanied by a grand piano, a bass, two violins, and a cello.
There was also room for tributes: she dedicated “La gota fría” to Colombia and “¿Y cómo es él?” to her “dear José Luis Perales”. For the second part of the concert, she changed into a black dress that evoked the audience's emotions.
“We must sing until those in charge stop messing things up,” she proclaimed before performing a duet with her daughter, Ivana, who accompanied her along with another backing vocalist. Together they sang “Te encontraré” and “Un largo camino”.
The final segment arrived with the stage darkened and a single light on the artist. “This is ending,” she said before singing “No llores por mí Argentina”, her most iconic song. What seemed like the finale was actually the penultimate song.
In tears, San Basilio thanked the audience: “Thank you for being with me for so long… together.” The applause preceded the true finale, with “Juntos”, which the audience sang in unison as the artist left the venue.
With this performance, the singer concluded a week of concerts at the Feria de Málaga, leaving an image of total communion with an audience that danced and sang until the last chord.
