The bullring of La Malagueta will host the return of Victorino Martín this Friday, twelve years after his last full bullfight in Málaga. The event, which will open with 'Garrochista', will be broadcast live by Canal Sur Televisión.
The bullring of La Malagueta will welcome the return of the Victorino Martín livestock on Friday, which has not held a full bullfight in the Málaga capital for twelve years. The event, the ninth and penultimate of the season, will begin with the appearance of 'Garrochista', a bull weighing 516 kilos born in February 2021.
The line-up includes Manuel Escribano, making his only appearance of the cycle, alongside Emilio de Justo and Fortes, both of whom will return after being carried out on shoulders in their previous performance. The three will parade before a full run from the 'A' crowned brand, one of the most legendary in Spanish bullfighting.
The bullfight will be presided over by Antonio Roche, with Paco Arijo as artistic advisor and José Luis Monterroso as veterinary advisor. The government delegate will be Alicia Arroyo.
The order of the fight is as follows: 'Garrochista' (nº 8, black with brindle, 516 kilos); 'Planetario' (nº 90, dark brindle, 586 kilos); 'Borracho' (nº 53, brindle, 587 kilos); 'Murallón' (nº 46, brindle, 560 kilos); 'Escusano' (nº 61, dark brindle, 545 kilos); and 'Bárbaro' (nº 39, light brindle, 567 kilos). The reserve bulls are 'Bolsista' (582 kilos) and 'Vendedor' (573 kilos).
The teams consist of picadors and banderilleros for each matador. Manuel Escribano will have Juan Peña and Juan Francisco Peña as picadors, and Felipe Proenza, Curro Robles, and José Luis Neiro as banderilleros. Emilio de Justo will have Juan Bernal and José A. Barroso on horseback, and Antonio Chacón, Abraham Neiro, and José M. Valcarce for the passes. Meanwhile, Fortes will have Francisco de Borja Ruiz and Antonio Muñoz as picadors, and Curro Vivas, El Víctor, and Javier Gómez Pascual as banderilleros.
The event, which will start at 18:30 hours in the La Malagueta arena, will be broadcast live by Canal Sur Televisión, allowing fans who cannot attend the bullring to follow the event.
