The security operation at the Málaga Fair, deployed between August 14 and 23, resulted in 391 reports issued by the National Police. Of these, 315 corresponded to seizures related to narcotic substances, with a notable increase in new generation drugs, and 38 to weapon possession.
During those ten days, officers arrested 83 individuals. Reasons included robbery with violence (one), crimes against public health (nine), assaults (seven), and resistance and disobedience to officers (nine). There were also ten arrests for assaulting law enforcement officers and eight for crimes against sexual freedom.
The illegal possession of weapons resulted in eight arrests, while seven were arrested for domestic violence or gender-based violence. Another 14 individuals were wanted by the justice system. The rest of the arrests were for other criminal offenses.
The police force enhanced the identification of individuals and the search for items to locate knives, aiming to prevent fights from resulting in serious injuries. The seizures of weapons contributed to increased security at the fairgrounds.
Additionally, officers intervened in 126 brawls and carried out 136 humanitarian assistance actions. In the realm of private security, 86 actions were undertaken, including inspections and procedures in booths.
The operation involved more than 2,000 National Police officers, who conducted nearly 6,700 identifications and checked 110 vehicles. They also seized 144 resale tickets in the vicinity of the Plaza de Toros de la Malagueta.
