The Fuengirola City Council has installed a new 'selfie' point on Alberto Morgenstern Street, next to the River Park. The structure, which simulates a postal stamp, aims to consolidate the image of the Fuengirola brand.

Fuengirola unveils a new tourist attraction on Alberto Morgenstern Street, next to the River Park. It is a large postal stamp, measuring 3.25 meters wide by 2.30 meters high, designed for locals and visitors to take photos with Sohail Castle as a backdrop.

The mayor, Ana Mula, presented the installation this morning, accompanied by the councillors for Infrastructure and Tourism, José Sánchez and José Luis Ponce. The piece reproduces characteristic elements of the municipality's identity, with the inscription 'Postal Service', the word 'Fuengirola', and a die-cut stamp featuring local motifs.

The design includes a large central opening for people to position themselves inside and take the photograph. The structure has a steel interior and an aluminium coating prepared to withstand the coastal environmental conditions.

“We want Fuengirola to have more and more elements that people can identify, remember, and want to photograph. This new 'selfie' point is born with that vocation: to be a fun, recognisable, and highly shareable place that brings the name of Fuengirola to every corner,” Mula stated during the presentation.

The initiative adds to other elements already installed in the municipality as part of the Fuengirola brand strategy. Among them are the letters of Fuengirola on the Torreblanca pier and a wicker heart on the San Francisco pier, both of which have become popular photo spots.

The new postal stamp aims to expand that network of visual spaces distributed throughout the municipality. The goal, according to the City Council, is for residents and tourists to share images of the city on social media and thus contribute to its tourist promotion.

“When a person shares a photograph on social media, they are showcasing Fuengirola to their friends, family, and followers. That’s why these elements also have an important component of tourist promotion,” the mayor concluded.

With this initiative, the Fuengirola City Council continues to strengthen the city's projection as a tourist destination, with a new icon designed to generate spontaneous content among those who visit.
