Alejandro Talavante and Roca Rey have been the winners of the bullfight at the Estepona fair, cutting three and four ears respectively. Juan Ortega, despite a great performance, left empty-handed due to errors with the sword.

The Estepona bullring experienced an afternoon of resounding triumphs. Alejandro Talavante and Roca Rey were carried out on shoulders after a local fair bullfight in which the Peruvian cut four ears and a tail, while the Extremaduran added three ears. The Sevillian Juan Ortega, despite delivering a significant performance, left without trophies due to poor use of the sword.

Roca Rey, the great winner of the afternoon

The Peruvian Roca Rey connected with the audience from the very first moment. In the third bull of the afternoon, from the Luis Algarra ranch, he executed a very tight gaonera. He dedicated the performance to the matador Alfonso Galán and began with statues, continuing on both horns. The bullfighter performed long and got the audience on their feet. He shortened the distance and finished with a thrust that earned him two ears and a tail.

In the sixth bull, Roca Rey again cut two ears. The performance was marked by the wind, but the Peruvian prevailed with power and emotion. He took advantage of every charge from the good animal from Luis Algarra on both horns, winning over the crowd. Despite two prior stabs before the thrust, the audience called for the trophies.

Talavante, performances of taste and skill

Alejandro Talavante received the first bull of the afternoon with close-foot lances, in which the Luis Algarra bull moved well. The Extremaduran began the performance from above and executed a work with taste and skill, shortening the distance at the end. He closed with manoletinas and a full thrust allowed him to cut both ears.

For the fourth bull, somewhat lacking in strength, Talavante received it with three lanterns. He had to keep the animal at mid-height in the first part of the muleta performance to prevent it from losing its footing. The highlights came on the left hand, and after a good thrust, he cut one ear.

Juan Ortega, inspired but unfortunate with the swords

Juan Ortega was exquisite in the fifth bull of the afternoon, a very confusing animal in the initial thirds. The Sevillian, very inspired, began with high assisted moves and gradually got the feel of the Algarra bull. He strung together the muletazos without taking the muleta away from the bull's face, with much taste and composure. However, poor use of the sword prevented him from cutting any trophies.

In his first bull, the second of the afternoon, Ortega received it with very tasteful verónicas and took it with chicuelinas finishing with a media. The animal arrived very slow to the muleta, and the performance had to be one by one, with much gentleness. The audience applauded his work, but the errors with the sword left him without a prize.

The bullring of Estepona was nearly full in the stands, on a windy afternoon that did not prevent fans from enjoying a great bullfight. The bulls from Luis Algarra Polera, correctly presented, were noble and generally performed well. For the residents of Estepona, this fair bullfight is one of the highlights of the festivities, and the audience's response demonstrates the deep-rooted nature of bullfighting in the locality.

The next bullfighting event in the province will be in Málaga capital during the August fair, where a large turnout of fans is expected.
