The Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Centre hosts the 'Decades of Dreams in Colour' exhibition, a journey through the work of artist Salvador Calvo, born in Istán.

The Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Centre in Marbella will host the exhibition 'Decades of Dreams in Colour', a showcase that reviews the career of painter Salvador Calvo. The opening will be on September 3 at 18:30 and will be open until September 28.

The exhibition, curated by Pedro Manuel Molina Peña, offers a journey through a body of work characterised by visual refinement, chromatic mastery, and geometric restraint. Through abstraction, the artist invites exploration of the essence of colour, atmosphere, and formal purity.

In his canvases, colour expands through veils and soft tones that evoke organic atmospheres, morning light, or the serenity of the sea. Over these soft chromatic fields, Calvo incorporates subtle and precise lines that structure the composition and engage in dialogue with the volatility of the pigment.

Calvo, born in Istán, has an international career spanning over four decades. His first exhibitions date back to the late sixties at the Museum of Málaga and in Madrid. Since then, his work has been featured in galleries and art centres across the United States, with presence in Chicago, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Oklahoma, as well as in Greece, Luxembourg, and Johannesburg.

His work is part of institutional collections such as those of the Unicaja Foundation, the Provincial Council of Málaga, and the Contemporary Art Museum of Vilafamés.

The exhibition will be open during the usual hours of the cultural centre, with free entry until capacity is reached.
