The programme presented by Beatriz Archidona and Santi Acosta on Telecinco started on July 6 with a 9% share and 695,000 viewers. The journalist hints at a more relaxed tone and exclusive content throughout the summer.

Beatriz Archidona has revealed the keys to the new De lunes a viernes, the afternoon programme on Telecinco that began its journey on July 6. In an interview, the presenter explained that the format will maintain the essence of ¡De Viernes! but with a more relaxed and mischievous approach, adapted to the afternoon schedule and summer vibe.

The show, which shares hosting duties with Santi Acosta, achieved a 9% audience share and 695,000 viewers at its premiere, according to data provided by the network. Numbers that, according to Archidona, reflect the public's interest in a proposal that combines social current affairs, humour, and entertainment.

A more carefree tone and original content

The journalist emphasised that the main difference with the evening programme is the tone. “We want to maintain our essence, our way of questioning and informing, but much more relaxed, more fun, more carefree, more mischievous,” she stated. According to Archidona, the afternoon schedule and the summer season invite a more informal style without losing journalistic rigor.

The programme will draw from the content of ¡De Viernes!, but with a more measured and in-depth treatment. “We are going to analyse the interviews with much more calm and detail. Moreover, there is a lot of original content,” she explained. In this regard, Archidona revealed that the team is working on exclusives that will be “tremendous” and will generate a lot of buzz throughout the summer.

One of the highlights already aired has been the exclusive filmed in Cantora, the estate of Paquirri's family. The presenter described the experience as “a brutal journalistic document,” being able to access a place that has been the subject of media speculation for decades.

Diverse collaborators and chemistry in the studio

Archidona highlighted the importance of the team of collaborators, among whom she pointed out Maica, a newcomer who, due to her lack of knowledge about the world of celebrity gossip, brings freshness and naturalness. “Maica knows nothing about the gossip press and I think that's the strength. Having such a different profile and sending her to cover something she knows nothing about can be very fun,” she commented.

The journalist defined the space as intergenerational, with very diverse opinions and ages. “It’s like a Christmas dinner, where everyone thinks differently. It’s about respecting everyone’s opinions, enjoying the debate, and understanding that all positions are valid if there is affection, respect, and entertainment,” she noted. However, with humour, she added that if “any little conflict” arises, they will resolve it internally “like in good families.”

The chemistry with Santi Acosta is, according to Archidona, one of the secrets to their success. “I have a wonderful relationship with Santi and I think that shows on screen because it’s real. When there is affection, camaraderie, and a good relationship, the chemistry makes everything flow much better,” she confessed.

Local angle: an afternoon bet aiming to engage the Malaga viewer

Although De lunes a viernes is a national programme, its afternoon broadcast (from 3:45 PM to 7:00 PM) makes it an option for the audience in the province of Malaga looking for light entertainment during the after-lunch period. The bet on a more mischievous and relaxed tone may connect with an audience that, in summer, prefers laid-back content. Additionally, the exclusives about figures like those from Cantora or Paquirri have a special appeal among fans of celebrity gossip on the Costa del Sol.

The programme airs Monday to Friday on Telecinco and, according to Archidona, the team is already working on new episodes with surprises. Malaga viewers can expect a summer filled with gossip and good humour.
