In Málaga, the Councillor for Economy, Finance and European Funds, Carolina España, announced that the 2027 Budget of the Junta of Andalucía will strengthen housing policy and continue the trend of tax reduction initiated in 2019. These statements were made during her visit to the Málaga Fair.

Priorities of the 2027 Budget

The third vice president of the Junta assured that the budget will be approved "on time and in form" and that it will have solid political stability. This situation arises from the agreement for the governance of Andalucía, which will allow the new budgets to be "the ones with the greatest parliamentary support in the history of Andalucía."

Carolina España also stressed that housing is one of the main concerns of citizens in Málaga, highlighting that the president of the Junta has created a specific Ministry of Housing. The councillor mentioned that, in recent years, the construction of public housing has quadrupled.

Tax Reduction

In addition to investment in housing, the councillor pointed out that the new budget will continue with tax reduction policies. Since 2019, the fiscal measures implemented have allowed for an annual saving of approximately €1,794.2 million for Andalusian taxpayers. In the province of Málaga, more than 939,000 taxpayers have benefited from these reductions, translating into savings of over €560 million annually.

Carolina España highlighted that this fiscal policy is not only compatible with strengthening public services but is also the result of rigorous management of the regional accounts. The councillor emphasised that a government cannot be conceived without a budget, as this is the essential tool for implementing effective public policies.

Finally, the councillor compared the situation in Andalucía with that of the Spanish Government, criticising the lack of new General State Budgets, which she considers a sign of weakness and lack of planning.
