The Málaga Fair 2026 incorporates two stalls at the Real Cortijo de Torres with very different balances after their first days: while 'La Mar de Bien' claims to have filled all three of its first days, 'Touché' perceives a weaker start and relates it to rising prices.
The Málaga Fair 2026 has debuted two new stalls at the Real Cortijo de Torres with opposing first impressions. 'La Mar de Bien' boasts three absolute full houses in its first days, while 'Touché' describes a more restrained atmosphere, marked by the increase in prices.
Alfonso Espejo, owner of 'La Mar de Bien', describes the public's response as "tremendous" from day one. His commitment to Málaga cuisine, with espetos and fried fish as attractions, and prices he considers affordable, have facilitated the arrival of customers.
The stall has also taken care of the musical atmosphere, with afternoon music and flamenco in the evenings and reggaeton afterwards, adapting to the ages of the audience. Espejo summarises it as a "varied musical atmosphere" that seeks to maintain an identity linked to the city.
On the opposite side, José Polinario, manager of 'Touché', defines the start as "weak" and points to family budgets as the main brake. "The general increase in prices is making the public more cautious," he explains, although he clarifies that his diagnosis refers to the fair as a whole, not to a specific problem with his stall.
Touché arrives with experience in nightlife: its owners manage 'Silencio' in Torremolinos, a project that is going "quite well". This background led them to make a significant investment to debut at the Fair, although the path was not easy.
Before the opening, rains damaged the structure and electrical installation of the stall, forcing them to resolve the issues within a tight timeframe. Polinario acknowledges that the damage caused by the rain complicated preparations, but the team managed to get the business up and running and it is functioning normally.
The experience, despite the additional effort, has left the managers of Touché satisfied, who do not rule out repeating in future editions. Meanwhile, 'La Mar de Bien' hopes to maintain the pace of its first three days with an offering of very Málaga products such as squid and anchovies.
For visitors wanting to approach the Real Cortijo de Torres, access via metro, Cercanías, EMT, or private car is available, with parking options around the venue. The Fair continues over the coming days, and both stalls hope to consolidate their debut with a steady influx.
