The Fuengirola City Council has activated two training courses of 310 hours, with internships in companies, aimed at unemployed individuals and priority groups. Applications can be submitted until September 10.

The Fuengirola City Council, through its Training and Employment department, has launched two new training actions within the EnRuta programme, promoted by the Provincial Council of Málaga and funded by the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+). These are the courses for Kitchen Assistant and Tourist Establishment Receptionist, both lasting 310 hours.

Each course includes 150 hours of internships in companies, a segment designed for participants to gain real experience and improve their job placement options. Additionally, those who do not exceed 75% of the IPREM will be eligible for a financial grant, as detailed by the Councillor for Training and Employment, Isaac Vargas.

The programme is aimed at unemployed individuals registered as job seekers in public employment services, with one essential requirement: to be registered in a municipality in the province of Málaga, except for Málaga city and Vélez-Málaga, which have their own projects within the initiative.

Vargas explained that priority groups include long-term unemployed individuals, those over 45 years old, individuals with a recognised disability of 33% or more, nationals from third countries, participants of foreign origin, individuals in situations of socio-economic vulnerability certified by a report from Social Services, and those who have not previously participated in training funded by the FSE+.

“From the City Council, we want training to be a true gateway to employment. This programme offers not only knowledge but also internships in companies, which is fundamental for unemployed individuals to gain experience and improve their chances of entering the job market,” highlighted Isaac Vargas.

The application period will remain open until September 10, inclusive. Interested individuals can find information in the Training and Employment department of the Fuengirola City Council or submit their application through General Registry.

Informative sessions have also been scheduled for August 25 and 26 and September 1, which will be held at the Municipal Centre for Training and Employment in Los Boliches. These sessions will explain the project and facilitate the application process.

The councillor encouraged residents who meet the requirements to take advantage of this opportunity. “Having specialised training and practical experience can make a significant difference when it comes to finding a job,” he emphasised, highlighting the importance of collaboration between administrations to launch programmes like EnRuta, which “focus on people and their real needs.”
