Mayor Manolo Barón has met with delegate Laura Valle to learn about the state of the renovation of the CPA on Calzada street and demand its prompt reopening.
The mayor of Antequera, Manolo Barón, has urged the Junta de Andalucía this Tuesday to expedite the completion of the renovation works of the Active Participation Centre (CPA) on Calzada street, a key facility for the elderly in the city that has been unavailable for an extended period.
Barón held a working meeting with the territorial delegate for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality in Málaga, Laura Valle, at the headquarters of the Territorial Delegation, to inquire about the current state of the works and the forecasts for their conclusion.
Also attending the meeting were the councillor for Family, Elderly, Equity and Childhood, María Sierras; the head of the Social Services Management, María Victoria Medina; and the director of the CPA of Antequera, Antonio Matas.
During the meeting, the officials from the Territorial Delegation informed about the execution status of the project and the remaining works needed to complete the renovation and move towards the reopening of the centre.
The Antequera mayor conveyed the special interest of the City Council in knowing the progress of the works and in having them completed as soon as possible, considering the importance of these facilities for the elderly in Antequera and the time they have been without access to them.
Both parties agreed to conduct a visit to the Active Participation Centre soon, where municipal representatives can assess the current state of the works on-site and receive information about the progress of the pending tasks.
