The Benalmádena Town Hall has deployed a network of 30 loudspeakers and 23 SOS points along the coast to improve emergency response and alerts for bathers.

The Town Hall of Benalmádena has launched a safety network along the coast consisting of 30 loudspeakers and 23 SOS points, strategically distributed across the municipality's beaches. The system allows for real-time alerts and direct communication with emergency services in case of any incidents.

The Councillor for Beaches, Presi Aguilera, explained that this infrastructure aims to "continue advancing towards safer beaches that are better prepared to respond to any incidents, putting technology at the service of both users and the professionals who work daily on our coast."

The 30 loudspeakers are spread between Carvajal, Playa Bonita, Torrevigía, Los Melilleros, Arroyo de la Miel, Bil-Bil, Santa Ana, Las Gaviotas, Malapesquera, Torrebermeja, and Fuente de la Salud. Each SOS booth has a control console from which messages can be sent to the corresponding beach, either manually or automatically with pre-recorded messages.

The 23 SOS points extend coverage from Carvajal to Fuente de la Salud, including areas such as Tajo de la Soga, La Morera, La Perla, Torremuelle, Arroyo Hondo, Malibú, La Viborilla, Benalnatura, La Yuca, or Torrequebrada.

During the summer season, the SOS points connect directly with the Lifeguard Service between 11:00 and 20:00. Outside of these hours, calls are handled by the Local Police. Once the summer season ends, communications are redirected to the Local Police 24 hours a day until the next campaign.

"With this network, we significantly improve communication capacity in an emergency, but we also have a very useful tool to convey preventive alerts, recommendations, or any information of interest to bathers," Aguilera noted.

The councillor emphasized that the SOS points "remain useful beyond Lifeguard hours and even throughout the rest of the year, ensuring that anyone needing help can communicate with municipal services."

"Benalmádena has a very busy coastline, and our goal is to continue incorporating means that allow us to anticipate potential risk situations and offer an increasingly rapid and coordinated response," she added.

"We continue to work to modernize our beach services and improve the experience for residents and visitors, but always prioritizing their safety," concluded the Beaches Councillor.
