Málaga City Council has approved the provisional lists of accepted and excluded candidates for eight positions of General Administration Technician (open competition) and 23 firefighter positions (internal promotion). Candidates have 10 working days to submit appeals.

Málaga City Council has taken a further step in its personnel selection processes by publishing the provisional lists of accepted and excluded candidates for two public employment calls. Specifically, this involves eight positions for General Administration Technician (TAG) through open competition and 23 firefighter positions through internal promotion, an offer aimed at strengthening the municipal workforce in key areas.

According to data provided by the City Council, a total of 120 individuals have been accepted for the TAG positions, while 12 candidates have been provisionally excluded. In the firefighter call, 23 have been accepted and only one is listed as excluded. These figures reflect a high demand for technical positions, with a ratio of 15 candidates per position, while in the case of firefighters, internal promotion ensures nearly complete coverage of the offered positions.

The publication of these lists now opens a period of ten working days for candidates to submit appeals or rectify any errors that may have led to their exclusion. It is important for those interested to carefully review their situation, as any missing documentation or formal defects can be corrected within this period. The complete lists are available on the City Council's Notice Board and will also be announced in advance in the Official Bulletin of the Province.

This call is part of a broader plan by the City Council to complete the new professional classification of public employees, especially in the Fire Prevention Service. The 23 firefighter positions are aimed at personnel already part of the corps who are seeking promotion, which represents an opportunity to consolidate their professional career within local administration.

In the case of TAGs, these are positions of great responsibility that require solid legal and administrative training, as these technicians perform advisory, management, and control functions in various municipal areas. The high number of accepted candidates highlights the interest this professional pathway generates among graduates in Law, Political Science, or Business Administration and Management.

To facilitate access to information, the City Council has enabled a direct link on its public employment page where interested parties can consult the provisional lists, as well as the appeal forms and required documentation. Candidates are advised to use this official channel to avoid possible errors in the submission of claims.

This selection process is part of the public employment offer for 2025, which the Málaga City Council approved last year with the aim of stabilising and rejuvenating the municipal workforce. In total, more than a hundred positions are expected to be called in various categories, including local police, administrative staff, and senior technicians.

Candidates who have been provisionally excluded will have the next ten working days to submit the documentation that rectifies the defect. Once this period has ended, the City Council will publish the definitive lists and proceed with the examinations, the dates of which will be announced with sufficient notice.

For more information, interested parties can contact the Selection Service of Málaga City Council or consult the official public employment website. The appeal period will end on February 15, so prompt action is recommended to avoid being excluded from the process.
