A 49-year-old woman has sustained severe burns after a fire broke out in her attic in Torremolinos. The incident occurred around 8:20 PM on Friday on Loma de los Riscos street, according to reports from 1-1-2.

Emergency Intervention

The 1-1-2 coordination centre received several calls from neighbours alerting them to the fire. Immediately, the Consortium Firefighters, the 061 Emergency Medical Services, the National Police, and the Local Police were activated.

Two mobile ICUs and a Critical and Urgent Care Device (DCCU) were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters managed to rescue the woman from inside the completely burnt-out home.

Transfer to Hospital

Medical services stabilised the victim at the scene and urgently transferred her to the Regional Hospital of Málaga, where she was admitted in serious condition. Authorities have not specified the exact extent of her burns or if there are any other affected individuals.

The fire has caused great shock among local residents, who witnessed the flames from the street. The swift action of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other homes in the building.

Ongoing Investigation

The National Police have opened an investigation to clarify the causes of the fire. So far, it has not been determined whether the fire was caused by a domestic accident, an electrical fault, or another circumstance. Neighbours have cooperated with officers by providing testimonies.

This incident highlights the importance of maintaining electrical installations in good condition and having smoke detectors in homes. Authorities recommend regularly checking these systems to prevent tragedies.

The woman remains hospitalised at the Regional Hospital of Málaga, where doctors are assessing her progress. A more detailed medical report on her condition is expected to be issued in the coming hours.
