The National Police have arrested All Boivin, 36, in Marbella, considered the most dangerous fugitive in Canada. The leader of the North Savage Gang had been hiding on the Costa del Sol for nine months.
The National Police detained All Boivin, 36, the most wanted criminal in Canada, in Marbella. The arrest took place last Thursday when the fugitive was heading to the La Cañada shopping centre in a private vehicle. Boivin had been residing in a luxury home in the Malaga town for nine months, rarely going out for fear of being murdered.
A Criminal History Forged in Quebec
Boivin began his criminal career with the Hells Angels, the biker gang that controls much of the drug trafficking in Quebec. After being expelled, he co-founded the Blood Family Mafia with Dave Turmel, a splinter group that refused to pay tribute to the Hells Angels. This decision triggered a war involving kidnappings, shootings, vehicle burnings, and targeted murders.
The violence escalated to the point where the leaders of the Blood Family Mafia fled to Europe. Turmel was arrested in Rome last year, allowing Boivin to reorganise and create a new splinter group: the North Savage Gang. With this gang, Boivin became the number one target for Canadian authorities, who offered a reward of 100,000 euros for his capture.
A Life of Luxury and Paranoia on the Costa del Sol
In Marbella, Boivin led a discreet yet luxurious life. He resided in a high-end rented property and rarely went out. According to sources from the investigation, his fear was not so much of being arrested but of being killed by his rivals. Canadian authorities had been tracking him for months thanks to social media from the drug trafficker's circle, which revealed his location on the Costa del Sol.
The arrest was carried out by the National Police's fugitive unit, which located Boivin as he was travelling to the La Cañada shopping centre. His partner, Yaulise Lemieux-Bellavance, also wanted, has not been arrested and is believed to have changed locations following Boivin's arrest.
This case highlights how the Costa del Sol remains a refuge for international fugitives. It is not the first time Marbella has appeared on the map of global organised crime: the city has been the scene of arrests of drug traffickers, mobsters, and terrorists in recent years.
A Brutal Drug Market in Canada
Canada has a very powerful drug market due to the high purchasing power of its consumers. This generates extreme violence among the gangs competing for control of the business. The Hells Angels, the Blood Family Mafia, and the North Savage Gang are just some of the groups operating in Quebec, with international connections reaching as far as the Costa del Sol.
For the residents of Marbella, Boivin's arrest is a reminder that the city is not only a luxury tourist destination but also a hotspot for international crime. The National Police maintain constant surveillance in the area, especially during the high season when both tourists and fugitives trying to go unnoticed increase.
Boivin has already been brought before a judge and is expected to be extradited to Canada in the coming days. Meanwhile, the search for his partner continues, and Canadian authorities have thanked the National Police for their collaboration in this operation.
