The procession will depart after the 10:00 pilgrim mass from the Rosario parish and is expected to arrive at the El Esparragal park, in Mijas, around 13:15. The event's bar will be managed by AECC.
The Romería in honour of Our Lady of the Rosary in Fuengirola will take place on Sunday 27 September. The Councillor for Festivals, Isabel Moreno, has presented the programme and invited locals and visitors to participate in the day, as reported by the Fuengirola Town Hall.
The event will kick off at 10:00 hours with the pilgrim mass at the Rosario parish. After it concludes, the procession will begin its journey to the El Esparragal park, in the neighbouring municipality of Mijas, with an expected arrival around 13:15 hours.
The route will pass through the plaza de la Constitución, the Condes de San Isidro avenue, Hermanos Pinzón street, and the Mijas avenue until the border with Mijas. It will then continue along the Campanales path, the Coín path, and the banks of the Fuengirola river until reaching El Esparragal.
In the recreational area in Mijas, there will be a day of community with a drinks and food bar, which in this edition will be managed by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). Due to the time of year, fires and barbecues will not be allowed.
“Around four in the afternoon, the musical group El Cenachero, from Paco and Llina, will begin their performance, offering two sets for us to enjoy a pleasant day”
This was noted by the Councillor for Festivals, Isabel Moreno, who also detailed the return: around 19:00 hours, the Virgin of the Rosary will begin the journey back to her parish, following the novena of that day.
Moreno explained that the operation will involve Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection, Firefighters, and the operational services of Fuengirola and Mijas, who will act in a coordinated manner.
