The Fuengirola City Council activates a special cleaning operation with 23 workers, sweepers, trucks and pressure washers for the Romería del Rosario, which takes place in the El Esparragal park.
The Fuengirola City Council has organised a special cleaning operation for the Romería del Rosario, which will involve 23 workers and various material resources. The operation will function before, during and after the celebration, both along the route of the procession and in the El Esparragal park, as reported by the councillor for Cleaning, Carmen Díaz.
The presence of animals in the procession affects the work of the workers, who will accompany the route to quickly remove any waste and refuse generated. In El Esparragal, municipal staff will be present throughout the day to collect waste, clean the toilets, replenish water and maintain the troughs for oxen and horses, as well as address any incidents.
The operation includes sweeping and washing tasks, pressure washing machines, sweepers and trucks. After the celebration, waste collection services will continue working through the night to restore the route and celebration areas. The El Esparragal park will be fully restored by the following day.

The councillor has appealed to the civility of attendees and reminded that El Esparragal is outside the municipal boundary. “All the cleaning work we do will be in vain if we do not have civic and responsible behaviour,” Díaz stated, urging people to dispose of waste in designated areas.
“The more civic we all are, the less time we will need to carry out cleaning tasks and the sooner we can leave the area in perfect condition”
The cleaning work will extend into the night following the procession, so that the El Esparragal park can return to its usual state by the next morning.
