The special service will connect the centre of Fuengirola with El Esparragal park every 30 minutes throughout the day on Sunday 27 September, with departures from 9:30 to 21:00.
The Fuengirola City Council has established a free bus service to El Esparragal park, located in the municipality of Mijas, in celebration of the Romería del Rosario, which takes place this Sunday 27 September. This was announced by the Councillor for Mobility, Isabel González, who encouraged residents and visitors to use public transport to attend the event with the city's Patroness.
The service will feature two buses that will cover the route every half hour. Departures from the centre of Fuengirola will be from the stop at Pasaje Camboria between 9:30 and 21:00. The outbound route includes stops at Avenida Condes de San Isidro (Pasaje Camboria, Plaza Reyes Católicos, Town Hall and National Police), Avenida Santa Amalia (in front of the Mosque), Paseo de Poniente with access to the Variant (in front of the Skandia real estate agency) and the park of El Esparragal itself.
The return service will run between 9:45 and 21:45, also every thirty minutes, with stops at El Esparragal park, Avenida Santa Amalia (Mosque), Avenida Condes de San Isidro (in front of National Police, in front of Local Police and Lepanto), Avenida Matías Sáenz de Tejada (Moreno Rivera) and Avenida Condes de San Isidro (Pasaje Camboria).
“To facilitate the movement of Fuengirola residents to El Esparragal park, the City Council will once again launch a special bus service, free for all, which will connect throughout the day on Sunday the park of El Esparragal with the centre of Fuengirola every half hour”
The councillor emphasised the convenience of the bus for a day of community: “I invite everyone to make use of this free transport service for the Romería, to enjoy a day of togetherness in El Esparragal park alongside our Patroness and to do so in the most comfortable way possible, which is by bus.”
Due to the time of year when the romería is held, lighting fires or using barbecues in the recreational area will not be permitted. There will be a drinks and food bar, with proceeds going to AFA.
