Fuengirola Town Hall begins processing a 2027 budget of €133.7 million. Real investments soar over 200% and taxes will remain frozen.
The Fuengirola Town Hall has approved in an Extraordinary Local Government Meeting the first step to process the municipal budget for 2027, with balanced income and expenses of €133,744,274, a 17.66% increase over the current budget. The document still needs to go through the Corporation's Plenary.
The largest increase is concentrated in real investments, which rise by €11,857,945.78 (201.46%) to reach €17,744,000. Among the planned actions are the construction of the Macrocomplejo Los Boliches, the New Mercacentro, the second phase of the renovation of the David Meca Pool, and the purchase of new machinery for Street Cleaning.
Spending on public services will grow by 6.8%. The cleaning budget increases by 5.8% and the allocation for beneficiaries of the Dependency Law rises by 21.5%.
The accounts maintain zero debt, freeze taxes, and retain the 30% aid in taxes for residents. The mayor, Ana Mula, highlighted the "very high" level of tax compliance among residents:
"Without budgets, it is much more complicated to implement new services and measures that are necessary for our residents to receive the services they need and for the city to function."
The next step is the vote in the municipal plenary. If it passes, the budget will enter a period of public hearing and could come into effect on January 1, 2027.
