The Málaga park opens until 11:00 PM in July and August to celebrate its 25th anniversary, offering a different experience at dusk.

The Sumatran tigers roam their territory more frequently, the binturongs awaken from their slumber, and the pygmy hippos become more active. This transformation in animal behaviour is one of the attractions of the night visits that BIOPARC Fuengirola has launched this summer.

The park, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, maintains a special schedule during July and August that allows access until 11:00 PM. It thus becomes the only zoo in Spain that regularly opens until that hour during the summer season. The initiative aims to provide a family leisure alternative when temperatures are milder and the light creates a different atmosphere.

The vegetation in the enclosure creates a microclimate that mitigates the outside heat. The natural lighting takes on golden hues, and the sounds of water and animals take on a special prominence. Visitors can explore the tropical ecosystems in an environment that is quite different from that of midday.

The special programming includes guided tours, encounters with keepers, and environmental enrichment sessions where natural behaviours of numerous species can be observed. The Jungle Clearing hosts exhibitions of African dances, one of the most popular moments among families.

The big novelty arrives on July 23 with the premiere of Noches Mayas, a proposal that will be held every Thursday. It includes the show 'The Guardians of Dawn', inspired by Mayan culture, which combines nature, music, and staging to offer a different night experience.

BIOPARC Fuengirola has participated in more than forty international conservation programmes for threatened species during its quarter-century of existence. It has achieved reproductive successes with animals such as the Komodo dragon, the western lowland gorilla, the orangutan, the Malayan tapir, the giant otter, and the Edwards's pheasant, one of the most threatened birds on the planet.

The park's layout allows visitors to travel through spaces inspired by Madagascar, equatorial Africa, Southeast Asia, the Indo-Pacific, and the recent expansion dedicated to Central and South America, conceived as a tribute to the Magellan and Elcano expedition.

The night initiative is part of the park's 25th anniversary, which opened its doors in 2001. Since then, it has welcomed millions of visitors and has established itself as a reference in ex situ conservation. The extended hours allow for the discovery of a lesser-known facet of the enclosure when most tourists have already left the area.

For those who already know BIOPARC Fuengirola, the sunset visit offers a renewed perspective. The sounds, smells, and light completely change the experience. Keepers highlight that the animals are more active and that it is possible to observe behaviours that go unnoticed during the day.

General admission costs €24.90 for adults and €18.90 for children aged 4 to 12. Children under 3 enter for free. There are discounts for large families and groups. The park recommends booking tickets in advance through its website, given the limited capacity during night hours.

All information about hours, activities, and special programming can be found on the official BIOPARC Fuengirola website.
