The Town Hall of Fuengirola has presented the cultural programme for August, which is free of charge and includes exhibitions, outdoor concerts, a children's archaeology workshop, and a magic show.
The Town Hall of Fuengirola, through the Culture Department, has revealed the cultural programme for the month of August, a varied and free offering that includes exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and shows, designed for all audiences. The initiative aims to complement the sun and beach tourism offering with activities that transform the town into a cultural destination during the summer.
The Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, was responsible for presenting the programme, highlighting that “the Government team continues to bet on a quality, varied, and accessible cultural offering for everyone.” Romero emphasized that the intention is for both residents and visitors to find in Fuengirola a leisure alternative that goes beyond beach tourism.
The programme kicks off with two exhibitions. The Manuel Delgado Perea Cultural Centre hosts the photographic exhibition ‘Guadalquivires’ until August 28, featuring works by Mercedes Higuero, Nuria Murillo, and Paco Negre, which can be visited Monday to Friday in the morning and afternoon. Meanwhile, the City Museum will host the exhibition ‘Olympic Legends’ until August 26, organized by the Sports Department, which reviews significant episodes in the history of the Olympics.
There is also a space reserved for the little ones. From August 4 to 7, a summer archaeology workshop will be held for children aged 7 to 14 at the Roman site Finca del Secretario. The activity, organized in collaboration with Menia Restauración and Arqueorutas, will allow participants to discover the archaeological heritage of the city in a practical way.
Music will take centre stage on August nights with free concerts at 21:00 in various outdoor spaces. The cycle begins on August 4 in the Plaza de España with the ‘Rock Night’, featuring the Municipal Music Band and the group Stereo80. Subsequently, the Parque de España will host several performances: Deskarria2 will perform great hits of 80s Spanish pop; the Municipal Band will offer a concert of Spanish music; singer-songwriter María Ruiz will also perform, along with a jazz concert by the Municipal Band, the ‘Flamenco Fusion’ show by the group Ábrego, and to close the month, magician Magic Jose with ‘A Brilliant Show’.
Additionally, from August 18 to October 18, the Promenade will host the exhibition ‘Bioparc Fuengirola, 25 years creating the best zoo in the world together’, an outdoor display that reviews the evolution of one of the main tourist and environmental attractions of the municipality.
Romero has encouraged residents and visitors to participate in the activities, reminding them that the programme is “very diverse so that anyone, regardless of age or tastes, can find a cultural proposal of interest.” All activities are free and do not require prior registration, except for the archaeology workshop, which has limited spaces.
In this way, Fuengirola reinforces its tourist appeal with an agenda that combines culture, leisure, and entertainment, establishing itself as a complete destination for the summer.
