The Junta of Andalusia has extended the deadline to apply for the 'LGTBIfobia-Free Space' recognition. This distinction is aimed at public and private entities and institutions that promote respect for the human rights of LGTBI individuals.
According to the Official Bulletin of the Junta of Andalusia (BOJA), the new deadline for submitting applications is extended until November 18, 2026. This recognition seeks to give visibility to spaces where LGTBI individuals can live with full equality and respect.
Objectives of the Recognition
The main objective of this distinction is to promote attitudes of equality and eradicate acts of LGTBIfobia. It aims to create safe environments for LGTBI individuals, as well as to raise public awareness about the importance of respecting sexual diversity.
Interested entities must meet several requirements, including carrying out activities that promote equality and non-discrimination. They must also adopt measures to ensure a safe environment in their cultural and recreational activities.
Previous Calls
Since its creation in 2024, more than 130 entities have already received this recognition. During the first edition, 66 distinctions were awarded, while the second allowed for an additional 68.
The recognized institutions will be able to use a distinctive logo that identifies their commitment to creating LGTBIfobia-free spaces.
