The Culture Department of the Fuengirola City Council has unveiled the autumn theatre programme, which will feature seven stage proposals during October and November at the Casa de la Cultura Manuel Delgado Perea and the Palacio de la Paz. The lineup combines classic and contemporary theatre, zarzuela, comedy, and family-oriented productions.
The Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, has encouraged theatre lovers to enjoy this new programme: "We now have the autumn programme available for all those who love theatre at the Casa de la Cultura and the Palacio de la Paz, with various plays that we will be able to enjoy during October and November." Romero recommended purchasing tickets in advance "to avoid missing the chance to enjoy theatre in our city."
The programme will kick off on 22 October at 20:00 hours at the Casa de la Cultura, with 'The Double Life of Virginia Woolf', organised by the Department of Families, Equality and Social Welfare and performed by Mara Bonilla Producciones. On 7 November at 20:00 hours, zarzuela will return to the Palacio de la Paz with 'The Tavern Keeper of the Port', a work by Pablo Sorozábal with a libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández-Shaw. The performance will be by Teatro Lírico Andaluz, and tickets start from 10 euros.
The Casa de la Cultura will be the stage on 12 November at 20:00 hours for 'Only the Night Exists', a play by Manu Collado that imagines a meeting between a young Miguel Hernández and Federico García Lorca in 1930s Madrid. Tickets are 5 euros.
On 14 November at 20:00 hours, Marta Hazas and Javier Veiga will star in the Palacio de la Paz in the comedy 'A Marriage Without Filters'. The play tells the story of Marga and Jaime, a couple who decide to separate after 15 years of marriage. Tickets cost 15 euros.
From 24 to 27 November at 20:00 hours, the Casa de la Cultura will host 'We Must Kill the Dead', a suspense and comedy written by Argentine Hugo Daniel Marcos and performed by the Muñoz Seca theatre company. The entire proceeds from the performance on 27 November will be donated to Cudeca. Tickets are 5 euros.
The programme will conclude on 28 November at 20:00 hours at the Palacio de la Paz, with 'The Guardians of the Verse', a fantastic adventure for family audiences performed by the Jóvenes Clásicos company in collaboration with the Centro Generación del 27. Admission will be free and open until full capacity is reached.
