Nerja singer Cynthia Martín has accepted the offer from the Town Hall and will be in charge of announcing the Nerja Fair 2026, which will take place on October 8 at 20:00 in front of the facade of the Town Hall.

The Nerja singer Cynthia Martín will be the announcer for the Nerja Fair 2026, as confirmed by the Town Hall following a meeting held this Friday between the artist, the mayor José Alberto Armijo, and the councillor for Major Festivals, Elena Gálvez.

The announcement will kick off the festivities in honour of the Patron Saints, the Virgin of Sorrows and Saint Michael the Archangel, and will be delivered on October 8 at 20:00 in front of the facade of the Town Hall of Nerja.

The mayor has thanked Martín for accepting the offer and highlighted her artistic career. “We are very pleased that she will be the one to give the starting signal for our Fair. She is a beloved artist, connected to our town and its traditions, and I am convinced that she will offer her best version with an announcement full of Nerja art,” said Armijo.

For her part, the councillor for Major Festivals congratulated the announcer and recalled her regular presence in the cultural life of the municipality. “Cynthia is part of the cultural and musical life of Nerja, actively participating in events in our town. It will be a pride to hear her announce such special festivities for all the people of Nerja,” declared Gálvez.

Cynthia Martín herself has thanked the Town Hall for the choice and expressed her excitement about taking on the responsibility of announcing the festivities of her locality. The announcement will be one of the central acts of the programming for the Nerja Fair 2026, which will bring together locals and visitors around music, community, and devotion to the patrons.
