Antequera honours Francisco Martín and María Pineda for their hundred years

Francisco Martín Ruiz and María Pineda Fernández, residents of Antequera, have been recognised for reaching a hundred years at the inaugural gala of the XV Month of the Elderly of the Diputación de Málaga, held at the Edgar Neville auditorium.

The Antequerans Francisco Martín Ruiz and María Pineda Fernández have been honoured for having reached the age of one hundred during this 2026. The recognition took place at the inaugural gala of the XV Month of the Elderly, organised by the Diputación de Málaga and celebrated on Wednesday 30th September at the Edgar Neville auditorium of the provincial institution.

The event was attended by the first deputy mayor of the Ayuntamiento de Antequera, Juan Rosas, representing the Antequeran City Council and also in his capacity as vice president of the Diputación. Rosas joined in the tribute dedicated to both residents for reaching a century of life.

Francisco Martín Ruiz and María Pineda Fernández are among the 48 centenarians in the province recognised in this edition. The gala brought together around 400 elderly people and family members from various municipalities in Málaga and was presided over by the president of the Diputación, Francisco Salado.

The Ayuntamiento de Antequera has congratulated the two honorees and extended the recognition to their families.
