The municipality of Alhaurín de la Torre has announced the program for its annual Feria de San Juan, scheduled from June 23 to 27, 2026, with a mix of religious acts, children's activities, and live music, including a headlining concert by 'Los Yakis' on the opening night.
The countdown to the Feria de San Juan in Alhaurín de la Torre has begun, with local authorities revealing a packed schedule that blends tradition, inclusion, and entertainment. From June 23 to 27, the town will host a series of events ranging from floral offerings and processions to concerts and a silent hour initiative aimed at making the fair accessible to everyone.
This year's fair, dedicated to San Juan Bautista, kicks off on Tuesday, June 23, at 18:30 with an Ofrenda Floral from Plaza de San Sebastián to the Church of San Sebastián, accompanied by the choir 'Coro Rociero Trébol de Agua'. Shortly after, at 19:30, a grand inaugural parade will wind through the main streets featuring giants, big-heads, and street performers. The parade route starts at Plaza Concejal José González Velasco and ends at the Parque Municipal.
At 21:00, the official Pregón de la Feria will be delivered by María Jesús García López, followed by the ribbon-cutting and lighting ceremony at 21:30. The evening continues with dance academies 'Baila con Desi' and 'Academia de Baile Laura González' performing live. The Caseta Oficial opens at 21:00 with DJ Fabio, and at 23:00 the band Los Yakis will take the stage, followed by DJ Xispazo spinning until closing.
“We want a fair for everyone, so we have included quiet hours for those with sensory sensitivities,” said the mayor, highlighting the daily silent period from 18:30 to 20:30 in the amusement zone.
Wednesday, June 24, the feast day of San Juan Bautista, begins at 09:00 with a Diana Floreada (floral dawn) through the streets, led by the 'Charanga Los Torrinos'. At 11:00, the Gran Fiesta Infantil takes over the Parque Municipal, featuring the election of Miss and Mister Infantil San Juan 2026. Children can enjoy workshops, dances, and a special K-POP performance at 13:30.
At 18:00, a Misa en honor al Santo Patrón will be held at the Parroquia de San Sebastián, sung by the 'Coral Santa Cecilia'. The solemn Procesión Gloriosa de San Juan Bautista begins at 19:00, following a route through the town's main squares and streets. The day concludes with the Academia de Baile Laura González and other shows at the Caseta Oficial.
While the full program for Thursday to Saturday is still to be detailed, organizers have confirmed that the silent hours will apply daily, ensuring a calmer experience for families and people with autism or other conditions. The fairgrounds will be located in the Parque Municipal, with the Caseta Oficial serving as the epicenter of nighttime revelry.
Last year's fair drew over 50,000 visitors, and with this year's varied lineup, attendance is expected to match or exceed that figure. The inclusion of a dedicated silent period, a growing trend in Spanish fairs, reflects the municipality's commitment to inclusivity.
For those planning to attend, the main events are free of charge, though some activities like the children's party may require prior registration. Parking will be available at designated lots on the outskirts, with shuttle buses running from the town center. The fair officially ends on June 27 with a fireworks display, though the exact time has not yet been announced. More details will be published on the town hall's website in the coming weeks.
