The Youth Councillor of Antequera, Marta González, has been appointed as a member of the National Executive Committee of Nuevas Generaciones of the PP, following the XVI National Congress held in Valladolid.
The Youth Councillor of the City Council of Antequera, Marta González, has taken a step forward in her political career by being appointed a member of the National Executive Committee of the Popular Party's Youth Organisation. The announcement was made after the XVI National Congress of the youth organisation, which took place last weekend in Valladolid, where Ignacio Dancausa was elected as the new president.
With this appointment, the Antequera councillor expands her presence in the party's national structure, adding this responsibility to her current role as general coordinator of Nuevas Generaciones of Andalusia. González, a member of the PP since 2020, has been climbing the ranks in the youth organisation, first at the provincial level and then at the regional level, until now reaching the national leadership.
A rising career
Marta González is no stranger to local politics. Since 2023, she has been part of the government team of the City Council of Antequera as Youth Councillor, an area from which she promotes initiatives related to youth participation, training, and associations. Her work at the helm of this delegation has earned her recognition within the party, which now places her in a national decision-making body.
The councillor has expressed her satisfaction with the appointment and has stated that she faces this new stage with the aim of representing young people and conveying their concerns to the party's leadership. "It is an honour to contribute from the national leadership to give a voice to young people across Spain," she noted in statements reported by the party.
Strengthening Antequera and Málaga
Marta González's appointment is not only a boost for her career but also reinforces the presence of the province of Málaga in the national bodies of Nuevas Generaciones. The Popular Party of Antequera has valued this step as a "recognition of the trajectory and work developed" by the councillor, highlighting that "it puts Antequera on the national youth political map."
For the residents of Antequera, this appointment means that one of their local representatives will have a voice in decisions affecting young people in the PP at the state level. González will maintain her position in the City Council, so she will continue to be a reference for the youth of Antequera.
The National Congress of Nuevas Generaciones also served to elect the new president of the organisation, Ignacio Dancausa, who will lead the team that includes the Antequera councillor. Dancausa, a lawyer and former regional deputy, has promised a phase of renewal and closeness to the grassroots.
Marta González will continue to balance her local responsibilities with national ones, at a time when the PP seeks to strengthen the role of young people within the party. Her next challenge will be to participate in the first meeting of the National Executive Committee, scheduled for the coming weeks, where the lines of work for the new mandate will be defined.
