Francisco Arce has submitted his resignation from his position as councillor for personal and professional reasons, as communicated by the Nerja Town Hall. The mayor, José Alberto Armijo, has thanked him for his work leading several departments.

The Nerja Town Hall announced on Friday that Francisco Arce has submitted his resignation from his position as councillor for personal and professional reasons, bringing an end to his public service in the Municipal Corporation. He conveyed this to the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, after the Plenary session held this morning.

Armijo expressed his gratitude for the work carried out over the years, both in the previous term and in the current corporate period, overseeing the departments of Security and Transport, Infrastructure and Beaches.

The mayor highlighted "the commitment, dedication and responsibility with which Francis Arce has performed his duties, always working for the benefit of the residents of Nerja and Maro," and wished him the greatest success in this new personal and professional stage. He also thanked him for his desire to continue leading the General Secretariat of the Popular Party of Nerja.

In the next session of the Corporation's Plenary, an agreement will be adopted to acknowledge the resignation for it to take effect, and it will be communicated to the Central Electoral Board, so that they can send the accreditation credential of the elected councillor to Eva García López, who is number fourteen on the Popular Party's list.

With this resignation, the municipal popular group loses one of its most veteran councillors, although the corporation will not undergo any changes in its composition until the transition is formalised. The residents of Nerja will soon see the incorporation of Eva García López, who will take on the responsibilities that Arce leaves vacant.
