The Nerja Council has unanimously approved the Municipal Plan against Climate Change, which sets out measures to address its effects.
The final approval came in the last session of the Corporation Council of Nerja, unanimously. The Municipal Plan against Climate Change establishes the lines of action and measures to tackle its effects and move towards a more sustainable development model.
The plan includes measures to improve the energy efficiency of municipal buildings, promote renewable energies, encourage more sustainable mobility, optimize water management, and strengthen the protection of the natural spaces within the municipality. It also includes awareness-raising actions to engage the entire population.
The Councillor for the Environment, Javier Rodríguez, has stated that the document is a roadmap for the municipality:
“We have a roadmap that will allow us to continue progressing towards a more sustainable, efficient municipality that is prepared to face the challenges of climate change, while also contributing to improving the quality of life for the residents of Nerja and Maro.”
During the processing, the councillor indicated that one of the objections raised was partially accepted, allowing for improvements to be incorporated into the plan.
