In Granada, the Civil Guard has carried out operation Graveyard 02, resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals suspected of belonging to a criminal organisation dedicated to drug trafficking. Among those arrested are three individuals of Slovenian origin.
The operation took place on 23 and 24 October, when agents conducted 12 entries and searches in various properties located in Granada city, Almuñécar, and Peligros. During these actions, indoor marijuana plantations were found, some even in an underground hideout.
In addition to the plants, investigators seized 181 kilos of marijuana, 1,388 plants, 805 grams of hashish, and nearly 35,000 euros in cash. Several pieces of gold, valued at approximately 40,000 euros, and a number of high-end vehicles were also confiscated.
Weapons and ammunition seized
The operation also resulted in the seizure of an arsenal that includes four handguns and one repeating shotgun. Among the weapons is a Glock pistol modified for automatic fire, associated with military use.
The four individuals who were imprisoned are accused of crimes related to drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal organisation, illegal possession of weapons, and money laundering.
Ongoing investigation
The investigation, aimed at dismantling drug trafficking operations and associated criminal networks, has been conducted by the Organic Unit of Judicial Police with assistance from the USECIC of Granada and other groups from the Civil Guard of Andalusia. The existence of illegal connections to the electrical grid to power the plantations was also highlighted.
The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Instruction Section of the Guard of the Court of First Instance of Granada.
