The Estepona Town Hall has celebrated Tourist Day with a yoga session on the Promenade, the distribution of carnations and the recognition of the 'Tourist of Honour 2026'.
The Malaga municipality of Estepona celebrated Tourist Day this Friday, a day on which the Town Hall wanted to thank the visitors who have chosen the town for their holidays. The events began at 09:00 on the Promenade with a free yoga session accompanied by live flamenco guitar music, a novelty that reinforces the Council's commitment to well-being and a healthy lifestyle.
During the day, the recognition of the 'Tourist of Honour 2026' was awarded to Pedro Javier Rodríguez Pérez and Paula Medina Denja, in gratitude for their special bond with the city for decades. This award distinguishes each year those visitors who maintain a close and ongoing relationship with Estepona.
Next, the queens and ladies of the Fair and Major Festivals carried out the traditional distribution of carnations to tourists as a symbolic gesture of thanks. The route passed through central areas such as Real and Terraza streets, the squares of Las Flores and Doctor Arce, and the Promenade, where visitors received the flowers in a festive atmosphere.
Additionally, the Council has set up an outdoor counter next to the Tourist Office, in Las Flores square, where brochures in various languages are distributed to showcase the varied cultural, sports and leisure offerings that the town has. This initiative aims to help tourists discover all the attractions of Estepona during their stay.
The celebration of Tourist Day is part of the municipal strategy to establish Estepona as a quality destination throughout the year. With activities such as outdoor yoga or the distribution of carnations, the Town Hall reinforces its image as a welcoming city committed to the visitor experience, which also has a direct impact on the local economy.
Tourists who visit the Tourist Office will be able to collect informational brochures in the coming days and continue enjoying the proposals that the city offers during the peak season.
