The VI International LGTBI Congress of Andalucía has kicked off in Torremolinos, Málaga, with the presentation of 'Orgullo Andaluz', a collaborative network between administrations, entities, and businesses.
'Orgullo Andaluz' is born
The Minister of Social Services, Families and Equality, Loles López, inaugurated this event focused on intersexuality, sports, education, and the fight against LGTBIfobia. The 'Orgullo Andaluz' network starts with the participation of the municipalities of Sevilla, Jerez, Almería, and Torremolinos.
“We are taking a step further. Orgullo Andaluz is born,” highlighted López, who emphasized the importance of cooperation to create an environment where Andalusians feel proud of their diversity. The network is projected to grow throughout Andalucía.
Activities and objectives of the congress
The inauguration was attended by representatives from various entities and the Equality Councillor of Torremolinos, Francisco García. The importance of inclusive educational and sports spaces for all individuals was underscored.
The congress, which takes place under the slogan ‘Respect and Diversity: red card to intolerance’, aims to be a space for discussion and reflection on the rights of LGTBI individuals. During the event, lectures and round tables addressing various aspects related to sexual diversity were held.
Throughout the day, it is expected to contribute to the respect and acceptance of sexual and gender diversity, sharing experiences and resources to combat LGTBIfobia.
