The Mijas Town Hall receives a Gecor Systems award at the Greencities Forum in Málaga for its citizen participation platform. Mayor Ana Mata collected the award at the Palace of Fairs.
The Mijas Town Hall has received recognition this Tuesday at the Greencities Forum, held at the Palace of Fairs in Málaga, for its management in urban sustainability and citizen participation. The award is granted by Gecor Systems, which has valued the trajectory of the City Council in implementing its technological platform.
The mayor of Mijas, Ana Mata, collected the distinction in pavilion 1 of the fairgrounds during the first day of the event. At the same event, the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, received the corresponding recognition for the capital, and the deputy mayor of Torremolinos, Marta Huete, and the councillor for Infrastructure of Fuengirola, José Sánchez, also attended.
Gecor Systems has highlighted Mijas for its commitment to innovation and digital transformation in municipal services through the use of its platform, noting it as one of the most remarkable success stories among the participating administrations.
“Citizens come out winning”
Mata explained that having systems that capture information directly from citizens and transfer it to the various municipal departments allows actions to be executed more quickly. The mayor added that when all parties involved work with the same source of information and almost in real-time, the entire community benefits, and she expressed hope that artificial intelligence will further shorten response times.
The Greencities Forum brings together administrations, companies, and networks to address projects on climate transition, circular economy, water, efficient lighting, and intelligent systems. The event continues at the Palace of Fairs in Málaga with the scheduled sessions in its programme.
