The town of Málaga hosts the new funding call published in the Official Bulletin of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) aimed at supporting the Andalusian fishing sector. This initiative, announced on 30 October 2026, is intended to improve the energy efficiency of fishing vessels and the working conditions of workers in the sector.
Details of the call
The call for the year 2027 includes two lines of grants, framed within the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and Aquaculture (FEMPA) 2021-2027, with a total budget of €180,000.
The first line of aid, endowed with €80,000, will focus on investments made on board fishing vessels that have a home port in Andalusia. Its aim is to promote energy efficiency and contribute to climate change mitigation. It is important to note that these interventions must not result in an increase in the gross tonnage of the vessels.
Investment in safety and working conditions
The second line focuses on improving hygiene, health, safety, and working conditions for the crews of fishing vessels and those dedicated to shore fishing. This line has a budget of €100,000 for 2027, in addition to €27,643.36 budgeted for the previous year. As with the previous line, investments must also not increase the gross tonnage of the vessels.
Furthermore, the order regulating these aids establishes the possibility of adding a maximum amount of up to two million euros, subject to credit availability, without the need to call for a new process.
The deadline for submitting applications will be ten working days, starting from the day after the publication of the corresponding extract in the BOJA, and must be done electronically through the digital headquarters of the Junta de Andalucía.
