The Junta de Andalucía has announced a significant increase in the budget for aid aimed at Regulatory Councils and their associations in Málaga and the rest of the autonomous community. This increase is 300,000 euros, raising the total allocation to over 682,000 euros for the 2026 call.
Details of the Assigned Budget
According to the Official Bulletin of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA), the initial allocation of 382,458 euros will increase by more than 87%, thus strengthening support for Protected Designations of Origin (DOP) and Protected Geographical Indications (IGP) in Andalucía.
Eligible expenses for subsidies include those related to management personnel, identification and traceability systems, and other technical services related to food quality. Investments by Regulatory Councils in IT tools and audits, as well as training and operational expenses, will also be supported.
Amount of Aid and Its Impact
The aid can reach up to 40,000 euros per Regulatory Council, depending on the budget executed during 2025 for the eligible concepts. For beneficiary associations, the aid limit is set at 40,000 euros.
The work carried out by the Regulatory Councils is essential for preserving the agri-food heritage of Andalucía and highlighting the prestige of its products in the market. Foods and beverages with Designations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications are linked to their origin and production process, benefiting farmers, ranchers, and the agri-food industry in the region.
