Mijas renews 106 sports instructors with an investment of €2.67 million

The Mijas Town Hall awards contracts for €2,673,000 for sports services employing 106 instructors serving over 6,000 users.

The Mijas Town Hall allocates €2,673,000 to the contracts for all municipal sports services, which serve over 6,000 residents. The 106 instructors will maintain their positions from this Wednesday, 7 October, for one year.

The Mijas Town Hall has awarded contracts for all municipal sports services for €2,673,000, employing 106 instructors through the companies Choosing Big and Serveo. The contract comes into effect this Wednesday, 7 October, and is valid for one calendar year.

The Sports Councillor, Mari Francis Alarcón, has noted that these services cater to more than 6,000 Mijas users. The contract is divided into two lots: one for swimming instructors and lifeguards, awarded to Serveo for €638,139; and another for instructors in other disciplines, custodians, and maintenance staff, which Choosing Big will manage for €2,034,909.

“All these individuals are successors from the previous season and continue their work this Wednesday, 7 October, for a period of one year.”

The municipal offer includes swimming classes, pilates, aerobics, toning, spinning, tennis, table tennis, badminton, zumba, basketball, handball, football, gym, athletics, equine therapy, adapted sports, senior citizens, karate, and judo.

The activities are held at the Antonio Márquez football field in Osunillas, the gym in Mijas Pueblo, the covered pavilion, the tennis court, and the municipal pool in Osunillas; the football field, the covered pavilion, the culture and sports centre, the tennis court, and the covered pool in La Cala; the sports city of Las Lagunas, in its outdoor and indoor facilities; and the covered pavilion of Las Cañadas.
