The Civil Guard has carried out the arrest of an individual in Picanya, Valencia, who is considered the alleged founder of the "Blocus" movement in Spain. This movement, which has been linked to calls on social media, presented itself as student protests but sought to incite violent acts and looting.
The arrested individual has been identified as the main driver of these activities, which have been coordinated through Telegram groups. Moreover, in his communications, he has used a video in which a hooded figure presents himself as the leader of "Blocus". The investigation suggests that the actions carried out could constitute crimes of aggravated public disorder and criminal organization.
Link to riots in Barcelona
This operation is related to the riots that occurred on October 24 in Barcelona, where approximately 500 people were involved in disturbances that resulted in numerous looting and arrests, many of which were minors. The Civil Guard has acted preventively in light of the possible mobilization scheduled for October 31.
Recruitment strategy and possible consequences
The recruitment methodology of the movement included the use of platforms like TikTok, as well as visual material created with artificial intelligence. The organizers promoted the dissemination of call links in school environments, exposing minors to participate in them. The instructions for the mobilizations included recommendations to wear dark clothing and masks to prevent identification.
Given the nature of these calls, which mixed protest ideals with the planning of violent acts, the Civil Guard has warned about the criminal responsibility that could entail for both the organizers and participants, especially in the case of minors. It is indicated that families and educational institutions should be alert to these messages that encourage the concealment of identity and the commission of criminal acts.
The intervention of the authorities has taken place prior to the aforementioned mobilization, with the aim of preventing possible disturbances and providing alerts about the legal implications of these actions.
