The III charity gala of the Sierra Blanca Foundation has managed to raise over 600,000 euros, which will be allocated to social and research projects on the Costa del Sol.
The Sierra Blanca Foundation held the third edition of its charity gala at the La Cabane beach club in Marbella, an event that raised more than 600,000 euros. The funds obtained will be entirely used to finance social and cancer research projects, according to the organization.
Behind this initiative is the Rodríguez family, founders of Sierra Blanca Estates, one of the leading real estate developers in the luxury housing segment on the Costa del Sol. The Marbella-based company develops residential projects alongside international brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi Casa, or Armani/Casa, and channels part of its social commitment through the foundation, focused on health, childhood, education, sports, and inclusion.
Cancer research for children
Cancer research remains one of the main focuses of the foundation. The president, Pedro Rodríguez, announced that the entity will finance a specific study on childhood cancer with at least 50,000 euros. "From the beginning, our idea was to facilitate and assist cancer research," Rodríguez explained, recalling the collaboration with projects led by Antonio Banderas and Sergio Scariolo linked to the fight against cancer.
The funds will also support the work of entities such as Cáritas Marbella, Fundación Lágrimas y Favores, Fundación Gasol, Fundación Cesare Scariolo, Fundación José Luis Martín López, or Despertar Sin Violencia. "What we raise is because people trust that every euro they donate will be well used to help those in need," the president stated.
Charity auction with exclusive items
One of the highlights of the evening was the traditional charity auction, which featured unique pieces and exclusive experiences donated by collaborating companies. The two private stays at Villa Kudú, a luxury residence near Kruger National Park in South Africa, attracted the highest bids, selling for 32,000 euros each. A trip to Miami with attendance at an NBA game sold for 20,000 euros, a personalised paddle court for 17,000 euros, and the amulet of bullfighter José Tomás for 13,000 euros.
Other highly valued items included a sculpture inspired by the Hermès Birkin bag (11,000 euros), an exclusive experience during Black Coffee's performance at La Cabane (10,000 euros), a racket signed by Aryna Sabalenka (4,500 euros), and a ball signed by Pau Gasol (4,000 euros).
The gala was attended by Antonio Banderas as a special guest, national basketball coach Sergio Scariolo, Marbella's mayor Ángeles Muñoz, and numerous representatives from the business and social sectors. The evening was hosted by Lidia Torrent and the auction was conducted by journalist Ingrid Betancor.
The foundation's president highlighted the role of collaboration between businesses and civil society: "When a community comes together, it can achieve extraordinary things. Thanks to the trust and generosity of everyone, we continue to transform solidarity into projects that improve the lives of those who need it most." He also advocated for a different image of Marbella: "Today's Marbella is the best it has ever been. Previously, only the glossy paper was talked about; today there is a Marbella made up of committed entrepreneurs, institutions, and citizens."
The initiative received support from sponsors such as Banco Santander, Sacyr, Bentley Marbella, Hospital Recoletas Salud Marbella, Grupo MLC, Rocamora&Mos, and Mediterraneum Paisajismo, as well as other companies linked to architecture, engineering, design, and technology. For the residents of the Costa del Sol, this gala represents a boost to projects that improve the quality of life in the area, especially in health research and support for vulnerable groups.
