The Spanish Association Against Cancer has presented the charity event, which will take place at Finca La Concepción and aims to gather 600 diners. 400 covers have already been sold, representing 65% of the capacity.
The Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Marbella presented its traditional Gala Dinner this Wednesday, which will be held on August 1 at Finca La Concepción. The goal is to reach 600 diners to raise funds for free assistance programs and oncology research projects in the area.
The presentation featured the president of the AECC in Marbella, Santiago Gómez-Villares; the vice president of the group, Setareh Mohregi; and the councillor for Social Rights of the Marbella City Council, Isabel Cintado. According to the organization, 32 corporate tables have already been sold, surpassing 400 covers, which represents 65% of the total capacity.
A high-end solidarity menu
The catering company Derraíz has prepared an exclusive menu for the evening. The appetizer will include a Málaga-style Gilda with smoked sardine and mango, tartare of Málaga sausage with cured yolk and Ronda cheese, petit choux with partridge pâté, and cold marinated red tuna salad. The main course will be a cold yellow tomato and corn soup with red tuna, followed by a beef tenderloin with sweet potato and pumpkin with perigourdine sauce. The dessert will be a caramelised vanilla millefeuille.
Jaime Canivell, CEO of Derraíz, revealed the details of the menu, which promises a top-level culinary experience. The dinner will be complemented by a charity raffle that this year will feature over 300 prizes, with tickets priced at 20 euros. Additionally, the draw for the jewellery box donated by Joyería Gómez & Molina will continue, a classic of the gala for over two decades.
Auction with star prizes
The auction will be another highlight of the night. Among the lots, bidders will have the chance to bid on a shirt signed by Kylian Mbappé from the French national team, a package from Atlético de Madrid including a stadium visit, two tickets, and two shirts signed by the team, with Air Europa flights included. Other collectible items and exclusive experiences will also be auctioned.
The president of the AECC in Marbella, Santiago Gómez-Villares, highlighted the city's response: “The extraordinary response we are receiving once again demonstrates Marbella's immense sensitivity towards those suffering from cancer.” He reminded that, thanks to such events, 462 patients and 135 family members have been assisted in Marbella over the past year, with free services such as psychological, social, and oncology physiotherapy support.
“Every euro raised brings us closer to a future with more hope, better treatments, and a better quality of life for patients,” Gómez-Villares added, expressing gratitude for the involvement of the Marbella City Council, over 200 collaborating companies, and volunteers.
An event with local impact
The dinner aims not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness about the importance of oncology research. The AECC emphasised that the gala helps to promote research, which is key to increasing survival rates. For the residents of Marbella, attending the dinner or purchasing a raffle ticket represents a direct opportunity to contribute to a cause that affects many families in the area.
With 65% of the capacity already filled, the organization is confident of filling Finca La Concepción on August 1. Tickets and corporate tables are still available through the AECC in Marbella. The event, which combines gastronomy, solidarity, and entertainment, has established itself as one of the most anticipated social events of the summer on the Costa del Sol.
