The 41st Gala Dinner of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Marbella will be held on August 1 at Finca La Concepción with 400 covers sold and 32 corporate tables reserved.
The 41st Gala Dinner of Marbella of the Spanish Association Against Cancer has already sold 65% of its capacity, with 400 confirmed covers and 32 corporate tables, just fifteen days before its celebration. The event, which will take place on August 1 at Finca La Concepción, aims to gather 600 diners and has the support of over 200 companies from Marbella and the rest of Spain.
The president of the association in Marbella, Santiago Gómez-Villares, highlighted the city's response: “The extraordinary response we are receiving demonstrates, once again, the enormous sensitivity of Marbella towards people suffering from cancer.” At the presentation, held at Nosso Summer Club Marbella, the Councillor for Social Rights, Isabel Cintado, and numerous sponsors were present.
462 Patients Treated in Marbella Over the Last Year
The proceeds from the gala will go towards the free services that the association provides at its Marbella headquarters. Over the last year, 462 patients and 135 family members have received care, with a total of 2,318 sessions. The Psychology area conducted 847 sessions for 290 people, while Oncological Physiotherapy attended to 171 patients in 732 sessions. Social Care was provided to 127 people and 59 participated in group nutrition activities.
“Behind every ticket, every reserved table, and every collaborating company, there is a real commitment to the patients and their families,” emphasized Gómez-Villares, who thanked the involvement of the Marbella City Council and the more than 200 sponsors.
'The Fighter' Award for Borja Sémper
The local board has awarded the “The Fighter” award to politician Borja Sémper, “for his contribution to normalising cancer and for giving visibility to those who fight against the disease from anonymity.” The award includes a piece by artist David Marshall and will be presented during the gala.
The co-owner of Gómez & Molina, Miguel Gómez Molina, has once again donated the traditional jewellery box that is raffled off with the ticket number. A three-year agreement with the company Tu primer Hogar, which joins as the main sponsor, was also announced.
DJ Kike Supermix will provide the soundtrack for an evening that, according to the organisation, is already a success before it takes place. Individual tickets cost 200 euros and include dinner and a drink. Those who wish to join can still reserve a table or cover through the association's website.
