The 2026/27 school year in Málaga begins on September 3 with the first cycle of Early Years. The bulk of Primary returns on the 10th and Secondary on the 15th.
The school calendar for 2026/27 in the province of Málaga has already been set. The Provincial School Council approved it in May and establishes a staggered start that begins on Thursday, September 3, 2026 with the first cycle of Early Childhood Education (0 to 3 years).
The rest of Early Years and all of Primary Education will start on September 10, while Secondary and Special Regime Education will begin on September 15. Language Schools and Higher Artistic Education will wait until September 21.
The school year will end on June 24, 2027 for all stages, except for 2nd year of Bachillerato, which will finish on May 24. The Christmas holidays will run from December 23 to January 6.
The White Week will be celebrated from February 22 to March 1, 2027, as Andalucía Day (February 28) falls on a Sunday and the holiday is moved to Monday. Holy Week will be from March 21 (Palm Sunday) to March 28 (Easter Sunday).
The calendar guarantees a minimum of 178 school days for Early Years (2nd cycle), Primary, and Special Education, and 175 days for Secondary, Bachillerato, Vocational Training, Languages, Artistic Education, and Adult Education.
Municipalities may set up to two non-school days for local holidays. To compensate for centres whose holidays do not coincide with school days, non-school days have been established: March 29 and May 3, 2027. If only one local holiday coincides, May 3 is added; if both coincide, those two days will be non-school days.
