Pedro Cuevas Square in Los Boliches will host sports activities for Noche Viva Fuengirola on Saturday, August 1, featuring circuits, traditional games, and exhibitions from the 80s.
The Fuengirola City Council, through its Sports Department, has prepared a wide range of sports leisure activities for the upcoming edition of Noche Viva, which will take place on Saturday, August 1, starting at 8:00 PM. This initiative, which has already become a classic of the Fuengirola summer, will this year be dedicated to the 1980s and will take place in various locations throughout the municipality, with Pedro Cuevas Square in Los Boliches as the epicentre of the sports proposals.
The Councillor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, has presented the programme, highlighting that the aim is to offer a healthy and quality leisure alternative during the summer nights, while also boosting the activity of local businesses and hospitality. “The government team continues to bet on a varied and attractive programme that allows residents and visitors to enjoy Fuengirola in a different way,” the councillor stated.
The sports activities will kick off at 8:00 PM with a Family Hybrid Run Circuit, organised by Hybrid Run, which will combine running and exercises in a course designed for all ages. Alongside this, a zone for traditional games from the 80s will be set up, where attendees can try their luck with hula hoops, skipping ropes, spinning tops, a giant tic-tac-toe, velcro darts, and various throwing games.
At the same time, a Roller Party Disco 80, organised by the Lions Club, will invite participants to skate to the rhythm of the music from that era, along with a badminton activity led by the Esther Sanz Sohail Fuengirola Club. Skating and racket enthusiasts will thus have their space in an evening that promises to be very active.
Starting at 9:00 PM, the programme will continue with a longboard skate exhibition by Santa Costa Surf Club; a tabletop football tournament named “Naranjito”, organised by Fútbol Chapas Mijas; and a lively Dance 80 session led by an instructor from the Coliseum. 80s nostalgia will blend with sports in a festive atmosphere.
Later in the evening, at 10:00 PM, there will be a fencing exhibition inspired by Star Wars, organised by the Fuengirola Fencing Club, which promises to surprise the audience with choreographies and battles with lightsabers. The day will conclude at 11:00 PM with a fun Aerobics 80 class led by Elena, reviving one of the most emblematic sports disciplines of that decade.
Rodríguez wanted to thank all the clubs, entities, and instructors participating in this initiative, emphasising that “their involvement makes it possible to offer such a complete and diverse programme, bringing sport to the citizens in a participatory and playful way.”
Noche Viva Fuengirola not only offers sports but also includes cultural and musical proposals in other parts of the city, contributing to residents and tourists enjoying summer nights in a safe and family-friendly environment. The event is set for next Saturday, August 1, from 8:00 PM, with free admission.
