Fuengirola's coastline will host around thirty boats in the IV No Anchoring Fishing Competition, organised by the El Puerto Club with the support of the Town Hall and over €3,300 in prizes.
The coastline of Fuengirola will be the venue for the IV No Anchoring Fishing Competition from October 16 to 18, a competition expected to gather around thirty boats. The event is organised by the El Puerto Sports Fishing Club in collaboration with the Fuengirola Town Hall and will distribute more than €3,300 in prizes.
The Councillor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, and the club president, Pedro Núñez, presented the fourth edition this Tuesday. The councillor noted that this is the first major sporting event in the city after the Feria del Rosario and attributed the continuity of the event to the work of the organising club.
“We are very proud to have a club like El Puerto, which works to continue growing this sport and also makes a significant effort to provide attractive prizes for the competition”
For his part, Núñez explained that the competition was born four years ago with the idea of bringing together boats and fishermen from different modalities. According to the club president, the variety of catches is wide due to the richness of the fauna along the Fuengirola coastline.
The programme will kick off on Friday, October 16 with a meeting of skippers, during which the competition conditions will be set. The first fishing day will be on Saturday 17, from 8:00 to 19:00, with weighing of the catches starting at 19:30. On Sunday 18, the competition will resume from 8:00 to 17:00.
