The Fuengirola Town Hall keeps the application period open until October 2 for requesting access passes to the Fairgrounds on horseback or in carriages during the Fair and Festivals in honour of the Virgen del Rosario. The process can be done online or at the Local Police Headquarters.
Horse and carriage owners wishing to access the Fuengirola Fairgrounds during the Fair and Festivals in honour of the Virgen del Rosario can apply for their passes from this Monday September 21 until Friday October 2. The Councillor for Festivals and Traditions, Isabel Moreno, and the Chief of the Local Police, Sergio Luna, have detailed that the process is free of charge and that the pass is sent by email immediately.
The application can be submitted electronically through the Electronic Headquarters of the Fuengirola Town Hall with the applicant's digital certificate, or in person at the Local Police Headquarters from 9:00 to 14:00 hours. In both cases, a photocopy of the ID card of the rider, driver, or owner of the carriage, the equine health card or horse passport, and the civil liability insurance along with the receipt proving that the payment is up to date must be provided.
Moreno explained that the aim is to maintain order in the fairground: "The Fair and Festivals in honour of the Virgen del Rosario stand out for their beauty, decorum, and also for the order of all the elements that coexist in the Fairgrounds, such as carriages, horses, and carriages that come in a completely orderly manner so that we can enjoy a safe fair where everything is perfectly planned and regulated." The councillor recommended applying for the pass as soon as possible to print it and carry it in the jacket or carriage, as it must be presented to a guard at the entrance by the Plaza de la Hispanidad.
The Chief of the Local Police reminded that horseback riding is only allowed between 12:00 and 20:00 hours, and that access for riders is not permitted after 19:00. He also insisted on following the designated route and wearing appropriate clothing, adhering to the instructions of the Local Police and the National Police's Cavalry Unit.
"The attitude and behaviour of all riders and carriage drivers have been exemplary during previous editions of the fair, and we want it to remain so," said Luna, who appealed for compliance with the regulations regarding animal-drawn vehicles, the municipal ordinance for the Fairgrounds, and the Municipal Mayor's Decree.
The pass is issued at the Local Police Headquarters and sent to the applicant by email at no cost. Interested parties have until October 2 to complete the process, either online or at the police premises on weekdays in the morning.
