The works on the new public parking at Los Nadales, under the Fairgrounds of Benalmádena Pueblo, have been completed and the elevator has arrived in the municipality for installation. The project adds 97 car spaces and five motorcycle spaces with an investment of nearly 700,000 euros.

The Benalmádena Town Hall is facing the final phase to open the Los Nadales parking to the public, located on the ground floor of the Fairgrounds of Benalmádena Pueblo. The conditioning works have concluded and the missing elevator is now in the municipality, awaiting installation.

The mayor, Juan Antonio Lara, explained that the project has involved an investment close to 700,000 euros and will enable 97 spaces for vehicles and five for motorcycles in a space that until now had hardly any use.

“We are taking another step to soon provide our residents with a new parking facility in Benalmádena Pueblo. The work is finished and we now have the elevator we were waiting for, so we will proceed with its installation and then continue with all the necessary procedures to open these facilities to the public,” Lara stated.

The project has included electrical systems, fire protection and ventilation systems, as well as a closed-circuit television and a guided parking management system. The dressing rooms on this floor, which serve cultural and festive activities at the Fairgrounds, have also been remodelled.

The mayor pointed out that Los Nadales is part of the municipal strategy to expand parking availability in the three population centres.

“We are taking advantage of a municipal space that we had practically unused to give it a direct utility to the residents and respond to one of the main needs of Benalmádena Pueblo, which is to have more parking spaces,” he added.

Once the elevator is installed, which will ensure accessibility, the Town Hall will continue with the technical and administrative procedures prior to the opening.

In terms of mobility, the Town Hall has launched the Pueblosol parking, with 692 spaces and a fee of one euro per day during commercial hours, and has equipped the area with a charging station for electric vehicles. It has also created more than 40 spaces in Le Corbusier and another 16 in the El Tomillar area, and is progressing on projects in Calle Pacharán, La Cazalla, and Plaza de la Cruz Roja.

The municipal government maintains free urban transport with the multi-journey card, has expanded routes and frequencies, has incorporated two hybrid buses into line 103, and has extended the night service on Fridays and Saturdays until 4:10 and 5:00 in the morning.
